Each issue of HOCHEDEL magazine is a mélange of exceptional things: products that stand out through their quality or design. Places that provide exceptional impressions and experiences. To discover them, I travel all over the world. Sometimes, however, we find exceptional things closer than we expect, as they unfold their full beauty in our everyday lives; not in far-away places, but right before our eyes. One just has to look closely.
It is this glow that lights up the sky, bringing with it warmth and vastness in the face of which one feels insignificant and small compared to this magnificent, time-limited spectacle on the horizon. I have been fortunate to witness many spectacular sunsets during my travels on all continents and before a variety of scenic backdrops. Each one of them was pure magic. And yet this one – in my Swiss homeland, captured only by chance while looking out of the office window – fills me with exceptional elation and deep gratitude. It makes me realise how privileged our normal life is, how much natural beauty we have around us every day, without us doing anything to create it. We need change, new discoveries and experiences – also so that we are able, ultimately, to recognise the value of stability in our everyday lives. So let us live each moment consciously and create precious memories for eternity. Wherever we find them.
