For those who previously had an outdated picture of bespoke shoes, Silvia Campbell is a pleasant surprise. Her refreshing designs throw a totally new light on bespoke shoes. Individually customised luxury in the finest materials brought together from all over the world and the highest standards of craftsmanship are guaranteed to make the heart of any woman beat faster – these are shoes to fall in love with. The designer studied at Cordwainer’s College, part of the London College of Fashion. She gained further experience working for some of Great Britain’s most respected shoe and boot makers. A master of her craft, she founded her own company in 2007 to put her talent, her professionalism and her passion at the service of a select clientele. And now, how am I going to get my dream shoes? First Silvia will talk to me to find out what sort of ideas and desires I have. My feet are measured and we consider what shoe shape is the best fit for me and looks most elegant, and I say what heel height prefer. Then my own personal pair of shoe lasts is made from wood, so that after several fittings, my shoes are the perfect fit. We discuss the material and the colour of the shoes – Silvia Campbell has over seventy test colours in red alone so that the right shade can be found – and then the design phase begins. Together with her client and using her instincts, she develops a sketch as a basis for the final design. Using traditional craftsmanship and almost hundred-year-old tools, a unique pair of shoes is created which will make their owner stand out from the crowd.
