Narciso Rodriguez + Dolce & Gabbana: A rapture of colour for the senses

Seductive new fragrances for summer from Narciso and Dolce & Gabbana

Summer is finally here. The effortlessness of life determines the rhythm of our being. The joy that comes with a special discovery sparks your curiosity for all that is beautiful. The sky expands its azure blue canopy, the clear light blue water beckons, the sun’s bright rays turn into red-tinged warmth and flow through your whole body. Fashion designers Narciso Rodriguez and Dolce & Gabbana embrace the summery feel of these colour accents in very different ways and in so doing, emphasise the mood of their respective collections. They allow an intimate look behind the scenes. After all, what would fashion be without a corresponding fragrance to enhance the image?

Warm skin emits a seductive scent. There is a sense of amour in the air. 'Rouge': Narciso’s new Eau de Parfum carries you off into mild summer nights, and transcends the feminine, taking it to enticing heights. It arouses the passion of the moment; the atmosphere is almost tangible. All the elements of this new fragrance for women are provocative and their effect is refreshing and ardent. It ignites a firework display of aromas – deep musk notes, exotic rose scents and elegant iris essences unleash a sense of ambrosia. The celestial forces become increasingly perceptible and make their way glowing into the present. They permeate this night of all nights – confident, provocative and yet purely of the senses; these are the women’s fashion creations for the coming season from Narciso Rodriguez. Sophisticated cuts, classic materials and a beguiling directness characterise the Narciso look. Clear colours dominate. It’s the same when it comes to 'Rouge': The intense red shines, spreading its mysterious effect. It is impossible not to be stirred by its enticing grace. From alluring to spell-binding, all its facets throb in the heat of the night. And the perfume? It goes unwaveringly on its way. In the morning, the memory of an intense experience remains – irresistible, intoxicating, incomparable. Where do we go from here? What will the new day bring? What discoveries are in store? Which colours will startle the senses anew? How can the passionate night and the pure day merge into one? In Italy we come upon a new fragrance from the designer duo of Dolce&Gabbana, which brings us into daytime and unites female and male elements without negating their unique qualities.

A connection full of lightness and beauty arises. This carefree approach to life – channelled in Dolce & Gabbana’s adorable 'Light Blue' – is developed further in a limited edition with lemon notes from Calabria. Mediterranean freshness and playful delight impact the new day. Blue and yellow complement each other and combine to create a sparkling eau de toilette: 'Italian Zest' calls to mind playful sunlight and the cheerful reflections of the sea off Capri. A women’s and a men’s fragrance were created with the true fragrance craftsman’s art; each having their own personality and yet complementing each other wonderfully. 'Limoni primofiore', lemons from the first flowering, were selected for 'Light Blue Italian Zest', and a natural essence was obtained by the traditional method of sfumatrice cold pressing. The central facets of white rose and jasmine are combined with Sicilian cedar and Granny Smith apple. This results in a fruity, bright accent that emphasises the charm of summery femininity. 'Light Blue Italian Zest Pour Homme' focuses on bergamot orange and its intense, full-bodied essential oil. The expansive aromatic canvas is woven with grapefruit and tangerine, juniper and rosemary, rosewood and frankincense, pepper and musk into a complex bitter freshness. 'Italian Zest' celebrates daytime, summer, light, and life. La Dolce Vita, the Italian carefree way of life, which, like Dolce & Gabbana’s fun-loving styles, enriches our being. 'Italian Zest' vibrantly lights up the day. Just as Narciso’s 'Rouge' gives the night a subtle tingling sensation. Both creations are part of a trend that will continue into the autumn.
