In the palace of fine colours

Together with designer Luca Nichetto, Wittmann of Austria creates exquisite furniture.

A wonderful terrazzo floor and high ceilings create an airy atmosphere; large windows made of fine wood let the light in: the Palazzo Ca' Pisani Rubelli forms the perfect setting for presenting the exquisite collections from Austrian company Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten. An ensemble comprising a sofa from the Andes collection and a high-backed chair from the Paradise Bird collection together with a low table, also Andes, and two Antilles side tables create a place where you’d want to ensconce yourself straight away. They exude a feeling of cosmopolitan elegance and cosy modernity that makes every room into a home.

A UNIQUE DESIGN JOURNEY FROM VENICE TO VIENNA BY LUCA NICHETTO FOR WITTMANN

A journey through the capital cities of art, fashion and design, from Venice via Milan to Vienna, is the source of inspiration for the 'Wittmann Beds. Handcrafted Dreams' bed collection. Both the Andes and Paradise Bird lines are aesthetic compositions of fantasy and colours, created by Venetian designer and Art Director Luca Nichetto. The upholstery fabrics used in the Wittmann Collection pick out the 'velvet green' and 'velvet purple' tones from an intensive colour palette and transport you to a place where you’ll sleep like a king. They form spectacular, organic bed systems whose headboards and bed bases, together with the mattresses and toppers, also form functional units that ensure you get a supremely comfortable night’s sleep. The imposing yet classic looks transform every bedroom into a suite, a unique retreat for rest and relaxation so you can reconnect with your inner self. Velvety smooth and partly furnished with brass attributes, visually each complete bed from Wittmann is a star, harmoniously placing itself in the service of the dreamer. The design and craftmanship of Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten speaks for itself.

AUSTRIAN HANDCRAFT SINCE 1896

Casual elegance mixed with unmistakable echoes of bohemian chic characterise the rooms with Wittmann furniture by Luca Nichetto. Relaxed like a city weekend in the summer, exciting like a good conversation with friends. Ornaments, delicate metal structures and upholstered cushions in many different colour shades and hues for living room furniture celebrate this forward-looking, traditional company’s signature. All collections can be endlessly combined for a colourful, unconventional style, individually configured. Enjoy a coffee in the afternoon or a good book in an interior comprising the Andes sofa; Paradise Bird armchair, footstool and table; Antigua cabinet; and Acacia table. Or simply relax on an Andes chaise longue.

Wittmann is an Austrian manufactory founded in 1896 and remains a family-owned company to this day. Quality and durability, good style and high standards form the basis for manufacturing upholstered furniture with lasting value. The combination of precision craftsmanship and exceptional design creates showpieces that are in demand all over the world. Previous collaborations with renowned designers like Jean Nouvel and Paolo Piva or current ones with Jaime Hayon and Luca Nichetto create the iconic style of their products. And it’s not for nothing that Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten are the only company to have authorisation to re-edit the designs of Josef Hoffmann.

With his CV, Luca Nichetto combines the opulence of the palazzi and art of his birthplace, Venice, with the Scandinavian design of Stockholm, where he now lives. He studied industrial design at the Istituto statale d’arte and at the Università Iuav di Venezia. His career began at the Salviati glass-blowing workshop on the island of Murano and with the lighting specialist Foscarini before opening his own studio in Venice and an offshoot in Sweden’s capital city in 2011. With his expertise and sense of style, he has made a name for himself in international design. Luca Nichetto has worked as Art Director for Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten since the start of 2021.
