Summer takes to the stage and finally it’s time to get out in the open air. And what would the open-air season be without its matching pleasure? Succulent meat sizzles quietly on the hot grill, surrounded by crisp vegetables and other delicacies. Roasting aromas and the scent of herbs waft around the nose whetting the appetite for gourmet delights. The 'Block D' gas barbecue from Flammkraft was developed to perfect this pleasure. Here, the advantages of charcoal and gas are combined and leave no doubt anymore as to which barbecue to choose. The founders of Flammkraft explain to us what that means and how it works in practice.
'With the Block D, we want to create a symbiosis of optimised, innovative technology and sophisticated design,' explain Knud Augustin and Manuel Lasar. Both engineers have thought very carefully about the development of this professional barbecue and driven it forward, and by doing so have created something completely new. In each barbecue, there are three powerful infrared gas burners whose ceramic plates glow via thousands of equally spaced. flame outlets. They give the equivalent heat you might get from grilling over coals and provides the genuine barbecue taste, but without generating smoke and using a regulated temperature. It can also get going straight away.
Different temperature areas enable you to prepare the most varied of dishes all at the same time; for a long time now, there has no longer been 'just' meat on the barbecue menu. Increasingly, the finest fish delicacies, complex vegetable dishes and even desserts are playing a bigger part, providing those extra special culinary treats. The generous grill section means you can serve a large number of guests – the terrace becomes an open-air kitchen.
The Block D is a real heavyweight made from high-quality materials. The grill plates are made from double-enamelled cast iron and the body is made from stainless steel. The concrete cladding – Flammkraft is the first manufacturer to use the material in this way – makes a modern statement and the invisible, obscured castors make it really easy to transport. But who wants to put this exceptional, unique design away? If you prefer something a bit 'lighter', you can opt for the stainless steel cladding in one of seven different colours, including smooth ivory white, cool pool and rich ruby. With the Block D only being produced in Germany, Knud Augustin and Manuel Lasar are clear about the value of being 'Made in Germany'. They still like to be hands-on; no item leaves the factory without receiving the personal approval of both bosses. And although they are individual handmade items, lead time is a maximum of 14 days. Then, you can cook, steam, smoke and, of course, roast. The barbecue season is open!
